Sticks and Stones

Friday night Jeff's ankle gave out, which is not unusual for him. What was unusual was that when he landed he felt a snap, and when he stood up, his foot was "hanging" there. He immediately went to the ED. His tibia is fractured in 2 spots and his fibula is fractured in at least one. They gave him no pain medication, slapped on a splint with an ace wrap, and told him to call the orthopedic surgeon on Monday. By the time he got home Saturday morning, he was having significant physical pain. He was also completely bummed because he was supposed to fly to Canada to elk hunt this coming Friday......................
Poor guy.
So, I'm in nurse-mode now. Giving pain meds and helping position him etc.... He can't move his leg independently, so I'm the constant leg adjuster at night.
I'm supposed to have my exploratory lap on Tuesday morning; hopefully Jeff won't be having surgery at the same time!!! How unfortunate!

That completely sucks!! I feel bad for my little bro. Thank goodness it didn't happen while he was in Canada hunting. Hang tough Jeff. Will pray you both don't have surgery the same day.

That is terrible news. Our prayers are with you and the upcoming surgeries, and sorry about the missed hunting trip.
